Everytime you say you love me...

Song and photo - © Jesús Montero

On a train this morning, and on my way

to Glasgow, Scotland, I came up with this Latin song, very 1950's.

************************************************

Everytime you say you love me,

Everytime you say you need me,

Everytime you say you want me,

I go head over heels.

There is only one dream we must reach,

One horizon, one journey, one dream,

Let’s go dance to the tune of palm trees

And the surf of the sea.

Everytime you say you love me,

Everytime you say you need me,

Everytime you say you want me,

I go head over heels.

Let’s walk barefeet down Paradise Beach,

Sipping cocktails till morrow begins

To the sound of guitars and violins

Mariachis and glee.

Everytime you say you love me,

Everytime you say you need me,

Everytime you say you want me,

I go head over heels.

London is cheating on me...

poem and photo
(Newman Passage, London) - © Jesús Montero

******
It happens each time I leave London...

******

London is cheating on me,

And I know it.

I feel her distance.

I hear her silence.

London is cheating on me,

God, I know it.

Aching heart,

Empty alleys.

London is cheating on me,

Temporarily.

Summer Exhibition 2010

Dear Blog Readers,

WHICH TWO PAINTINGS FROM THE LIST FURTHER BELOW SHOULD I SUBMIT to the Royal Academy of Arts’ Summer Exhibition 2010?

The theme for 2010 Summer Exhibition will be RAW: to take a look behind the exterior of the pristine, in pursuit of curiosity…

Raw can be stark, natural, unrefined, honest, bleak, tender and new.

Which two paintings from the list below do you think that I should submit to the Royal Academy?

Please, Tweet the titles of the two paintings of your choosing to:

@jesusmontero

Or email me direct, quoting the title of the two paintings.

Many Thanks!

Jesús

I’ve jumped every hurdle...

poem and photo - © Jesús Montero

I’ve jumped every hurdle

I’ve sailed every sea

I’ve run every marathon.

So, why?

Why?

Why?

Why?

I’m a toddler

All over

Again?

All over,

All over,

Again.

I’ve dealt with the summer

With the autumn and spring

Far too soon for the winter,

So, why?

Why?

Why?

Why?

I’m a toddler

All over

Again?

All over,

All over,

Again.

Seen bellies of canyons.

Seen snowcapped mountain peaks.

Seen corals and starfish.

So, why?

Why?

Why?

Why?

I’m a toddler

All over

Again?

All over,

All over,

Again.

There’s silver in my beard.

My life, I’ve half lived.

My face’s lined by crowsfeet.

So, why?

Why?

Why?

Why?

I’m a toddler

All over

Again?

All over,

All over,

Again.
